Logitech G500 mouse wheel keybind not working

I recently purchased a Logitech G500. After a little trouble with trying to keybind my vast array of new buttons, I find out that WOW only supports mouse buttons 1-5 (although I don't see why they just don't allow more) and the mouse wheel scroll. However, I am unable to get any of my spam spells to cast when I keybind to the mouse wheel up/down. I've tried altering the keybind both through Bartender and through the native WOW keybind menu and neither works. I had this problem before/after I installed Logitech's SetPoint software for the G500. What might be causing this? How can I fix it?

scrolling the mouse wheel wont cast spells at all. I have the same mouse, it doesn't work that way. The middle mouse button is you press the mouse wheel itself down, like a click.

Really? I coulda swore I've heard from a lot of people that they use the scroll function for their filler spell. "Mouse Wheel Up" and "Down" both show up when you select them in the WOW keybind menu. Why would they be able to do that if they don't have any functionality. At least my dead buttons on my mouse (i.e. 6-8) don't show up, so I know for a fact that WOW can't detect them.

I've never seen the mouse being used that way yet. Mouse wheel up and down are bound to zoom by default. You may want to go to the Addons/UI forum if you want to see if it can do something else.

I'm having the same problem w/ my G500. The middle button, of the 3 on the left, doesn't work, along with the left and right scroll that I need for strafing. If any one could give some feedback on how to get this to work... it would be great.
You need to set those in Setpoint as Generic buttons. I am using that same mouse right now and they're working fine in-game.

Left and right scroll are not recognized by the game. You need to use SetPoint to bind it to something else. If you're lazy, you can just bind them to Q and E respectively.
