Authentication Key Required????

Out of the blue when I went to log in this morning I was prompted to enter a six(6) diget authentication key before logging in. I recieved no email telling me that this was going to occur nor did I receive anything that included an authentication key.

I put in a tick on my alternate account but this was 8 hours ago, I would like to know what is going on with this and if possible quickly too.

The following response was written by one of our new teammates. Because they are still in training and do not yet possess a forum account of their own, they shall be posting via proxy through me.

Typically, when an Authenticator is added to an account without the owner’s permission, it is the result of an account compromise. Malicious third parties will occasionally attach an Authenticator to extend the amount of time they have access to the account to perform their nefarious deeds.

    In some circumstances, malicious parties may add an Authenticator to an account to prevent access to anyone who does not posses the Authenticator. Once you have followed these steps, create an in-game petition detailing what happened. Once we receive this report, we will be able to investigate and make any possible restorations for damages done. In the mean time, you may consider attaching your own Authenticator, to help prevent future unauthorized access.
