Blizzard Post
Greetings all,

We are aware of the continuing issues related to latency that are currently affecting several realms. Our staff are in the midst of working to resolve these issues, but situations of this nature are often not receptive to rapid resolutions and it may take time before they can be resolved. Regrettably, no ETA is currently available regarding when a resolution will be in place.

Please trust that while an immediate resolution may not currently be available, the situation has our full attention and your game play represents our highest priority. In the event that there are any further developments, we will endeavor to provide that information as soon as it becomes available.

In an effort to preserve the ready flow of information on this forum, it may be necessary to lock and delete additional threads related to this topic. As always comments and discussion are welcome, but please abide by the Forum Code of Conduct (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/forum-coc.html) in all posts on the World of Warcraft forums.

Q u o t e:
Do you want lag reports on this thread, or do you have a good enough handle on which realms are unplayable at the moment?

I believe that the information that we have is current. If that changes, we'll create a new thread in the interest of acquiring information, or the primary post in this thread will be updated to reflect that request!

Thank you for the inquiry though.

Blizzard, if you really want to help calm nerves.. You should take a page outa EvE Onlines method of keeping people informed.. There are a LOT of geeks on here. Many of us would love to hear some of the technical details of what the hangups are.. That way, the player base as a whole is much more informed of whats going on, and what the challenges are.

Things like "Hey guys, our core router took a nose dive and is not responding to all the packets sent it.. We've got a call out for a new one to be shipped and installed, no ETA yet on when configurations on the new one will be complete."

Or "Hey guys, our techs have narrowed the slowdown to couple of applications that are flogging the Main database for the cluster, i'll let you know as soon as they have isolated the issue"

Those are FAR more informative and helpful even to the layman then "Our techs are aware of the issue.. No ETA"

I understand that some players would prefer an adjustment in the kind of information that is provided in cases like this. If you're interested in detailed updates of this sort, you can request that kind of communication via a constructive post on our Suggestions forum.

Those of us who are Customer Service Forum Representatives are not in a position to forward suggestions directly, but that forum is reviewed regularly by our Development staff.
