Now that things have settled and a few raids have been conducted i hope the Devs are eager to revisit this topic.

It was acknowledged that the buffs to destruction were not enough to allow the Spec to keep up with Demonology / Affliction.

What puts destruction above demonology and affliction ?

1) On demand burst.
2) Quick ramp up time
3) Survivability (Soul link + improved healthstones + improved pet healing + more stamina aka health...)
4) Excellent Mana management / Regen + Replenishment.
5) Ability to switch between targets easily without incurring a massive DPS loss.

Demonology while good raid / personal dps has horrendous mana issues, you pretty much spend half your life tapping away, Death of pet means significant loss of personal and raid dps, otherwise awesome all around utility + dps spec.

Afflcition is excellent single target dps but has mana issues though somewhat mitigated by dark pact, has an unacceptably long ramp up time, uses an exploit to improve dps, has issues with target switching / dot uptime.

Come hard modes which will require better target switching and improved survivability Destruction will be the logical choice for most warlocks during progression, always has been that way i dont expect it to change radically anytime soon.

(Im sure some will disagree at this point and play whatever spec they want , im just pointing out what most end game / progression locks are talking about and will end up doing, this by no means represents the thoughts of every lock...disclaimer...(tm urg) )

I doubt any guild will allow affliction locks to tunnel vision and sit on the boss anymore without helping out with any sort of add management.

This brings us to our second point and ofcourse something that has been discussed to death in various threads.

The devs vision for destruction's future pre-cataclysm.

Q u o t e:
After 60+ pages by your own admission (We knew the buffs to Destro wouldn't be enough), none of our more subtle ideas were even considered, granted we did get buffed thankyou for that, but it leaves the player base quite disheartened because it seems like our best suggestions fall on deaf ears or blind eyes, either way you want interpret it.

Im sure a lot of folks here will disagree, some will agree, but i do ask one thing from all of you even other pures posting in this thread, please keep this civil, legible and make your points in a fashion that would not be construed as rude, QQ or plain malice. I am sure the community at large appreciates logic and understanding.

Once you bust out the "deaf ears" response, your hopes of avoiding QQ are pretty much shot. :(

This isn't a contest to try to get your ideas into the game. Very, very few player suggestions are ever going to see the light of day. If you find that prospect too frustrating, then spend more effort describing problems rather than offering solutions, or just read along instead of posting.

We also don't measure issues based on the volume of posting but on the insight of individual posts. History is resplendent with bad ideas that a lot of people managed to rally behind. Within our little corner of the world, we'd rather make good choices for the game rather than popular ones (insofar as you can interpret the point of view of a relatively few forum posters as representing the opinions of millions of WoW players.)

As I said before, we suspect Destruction will need a little more dps but we want to apply it in such a way that doesn't make Destruction the only logical choice for raiding warlocks. We're also cool with certain specs being better for certain fights. Having a three way tie in every conceivable situation is probably impossible. It just needs to be close enough that you don't feel like a bonehead for raiding with the spec you prefer to play.
