I would really like to know why Blizzard goes against the grain when it comes to time of day maintenance. Most other US based companies will perform maintenance on their servers at night, usually 3am PST. Why is Blizzard different? To me it makes no sense, but please enlighten me.

Actually, we've responded to concerns of this nature before, and we have a post of that nature archived in the following thread:

Our maintenance window was selected based on fluctuating player population concurrencies, and was chosen to impact on the play of the smallest number of players possible. No maintenance window will be perfect, and I apologize if this time frame in particular has been inconvenient for you, though.
