Spam getting harder to report

Last night i decided to re-join trade chat to attempt to sell some engineering, and was immediately bombarded with yet another group of idiots spamming "anal [random link]" on trade. Whenever this comes up, i report it. It's stupid, pointless, not the least bit funny, and there are children who play this game. I don't need the kids coming up to me and asking "daddy, whats an anal excorcism?" So I opened an ingame ticket, but by the time they were done, my ignore list was past full. so i grabbed a pen and wrote down every single person's name, but it's way too long to fit in the little space allowed for tickets. is there an email i can send it to? or should i just wait for my ingame ticket to come and give them all to the GM then?

Iamdrunk, as the others previously stated please use the Report Spam feature for players that you find using the [body part] [ability] spam. I'd encourage everyone who witnesses this kind of spam to do the same.

Let me address a couple things based on some of the posts I've been.

1. We do care about this kind of behavior, it is not only inappropriate but the spam it generates is disruptive.

2. The Mature Language filter is in place to give parents and others who do not want to see inappropriate language an added layer of protection, it does not give one permission to use language that is prohibited by the Terms of Use. Our policies apply on both clear and masked language.

3. You should not have to leave a channel if you don't like something that is not an accepted use of the channel.

4. Report, if you see a violation report it. Only through an increased level of apathy does this type of behavior continue. If you report violations that you find and continue to do so the players doing this may eventually understand that this behavior is not tolerated.

Keep the discussion civil, folks.

Q u o t e:
should we be reporting spam on individuals who are cussing up a storm in trade chat,

No, the Report Spam system should not be used to report inappropriate language. If someone is using inappropriate language please use the petition system to report them. The following information is most useful in helping us investigate these matters.

Include the name of the player who you believe is in violation. If this occurred in a Battleground or Cross Realm Instance include the Realm the character originated on.

Try to include the approximate time this occurred, what channel (i.e. Trade, Yell, etc...), and if you can provide a sample of what was said that will help.

Seems to be working on my server. It's rare to ever see this anymore. And when it does happen, you usually only see less than half a dozen people because everyone else knows they will get in trouble or have gotten in trouble in the past.

It seems to be different for every realm, it depends on the populations tolerance. Since our policies are reactive in nature if people are not properly reporting violations they will not be investigated and therefore will not be properly addressed. This generally encourages those to believe that such language and behavior is tolerated so it spreads.

I've played on realms where it was rare to find anyone using inappropriate language, simply because the realm's population did not tolerate it. I've also played on realms where such language seemed to be tolerated by many on the realm and have now become commonplace.

We understand that it may not always seem that something is done, since you do not have access to the results of your petition, but I can guarantee you that if you are vigilant and report these offenses continually and consistently it will get better.
