Constant Racism in Blizzard's chat channels

Why is nothing done about this? It's reported daily, nobody ever seems to get banned. Does Blizzard support completely open speech, with no limits in its game? If so, the game should at least be rated M. It's time for the rating agencies to think outside the box when considering games like WoW.

Something is done about it, Maeik, we look into such reports and take appropriate actions based on what is found. An idea of how situations may be addressed can be found in the following support article.

Unless you are the one using the petitioning system to report possible violations, Maeik, you can only assume that they are being reported. For this month I only see one petition submitted and it seems you closed it after 43 minutes.

The petition before that was submitted in late December. That was did take several days to be resolved as queue times were rather high. An investigation was conducted though and appropriate actions taken based on your report.

Absolutely not, if you review our Terms of Use you can see that we prohibit specific types of language. Our policies are reactive in nature though so any violations that you come across must be reported to be investigated and have appropriate actions applied.
Q u o t e:

report spam isn't looked at.

Report spam isn't a viable means of reporting non-spam related offenses. To have these issues properly investigated you must report it using a petition or writing to [email protected].

Q u o t e:
So what if the report is for someone spamming a racist macro 5x? It's spam, do they do anything about those?

Perhaps, Maeik, but the Report Spam feature and the actions that result for such penalties are completely different from negative racial comments.
Q u o t e:

I would quit playing if blizzard limits speech in game instead of having players turn on profanity filter.

The Mature Language Filter is an added layer of protection only, Aniimals. Our policies cover both Clear and Masked language. If you use an inappropriate word, even if it is filtered it can be considered a violation. If someone reported it and the offense was verified appropriate penalties would be applied.

Alteredmilk, such topics are not appropriate for these forums.

I will be locking this thread now.
