It just seems like it takes much longer.

If you consider wasting roughly 5 minutes of your life on literally nothing at all "not bad", I don't know what to tell you.
The reason I don't leave is that if I do then I have to find something to do for 15 minutes instead of just 5. As much as the 5 minutes does stretch things out, it's a fairly quick place after that.
