"We can hotfix this"

...so are you? Going to hotfix moonkin 4t10, that is: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=22749567377&pageNo=2&sid=1#32

I like to think I'm pretty patient. I don't think Blizzard hates my class (I think we're in a pretty good spot, especially compared to the past), and I try not to be inflammatory.

But I'd like to know if this is getting hotfixed by (or on) Tuesday. That's the day the final wing of ICC comes out, including two new limited-attempt bosses. It's fairly important to me that I maximize my performance on those fights, since killing them unlocks hard modes and is significant to progression. Bugged 4t10 is a dps loss - if it isn't being fixed by Tuesday I can pick up other upgrades that help me on Sindragosa and the Lich King. If it is being fixed then I shouldn't. Knowing ahead of time means I don't need to be rushing before raid or while I don't have time to 1) Test, and 2) Get gear setup.

Now I understand that you can't necessarily hotfix things on a whim and (thank god) you actually use QA. But can we get some info on if this change is in the pipeline? I don't mind waiting for Tuesday but I'd love to know before I log in and enter ICC. And if it isn't happening then there's other stuff I'd like to pick up.

"Hotfix" doesn't mean "today." It means we can apply the change without having to apply a major patch. If we could tell you when a change will go live with some authority, we would do that. Since we can't, the best we can do is say "soon."

Generally, changes that mean text changes in the game can't be done via hotfix unless we're prepared to have the text be invalid (which we do only rarely, and if we think the fix is really important). But it depends a lot on the text in question so there is no hard and fast rule.
