Account upgrade still pending after 4 hours

Is this normal after making a payment online? I used a credit card and was able to download the installer and am able to log into the game, however I still cannot mail or trade anyone. I would like to use these functions, but I am unable to at the moment because the upgrade from the recruit a friend-to-permanant account is taking hours.

On a side note, why does your company not have the ability to place customers on hold to wait for assistance instead of having some machine tell me that your customer service agents are busy? I can understand not wanting to waste our time sitting on hold, but some people actually do like sitting on hold until they get assistance, so might I suggest you at least give your customers that option to hold if they like?

As your fellow posters have noted, Sticky, following a digital upgrade from a trial to standard account, temporary restrictions will remain in place for up to 72 hours. These restrictions will prevent access to public amenities (mailboxes, traded, auction houses, etc), but will not affect the leveling process or profession skill ups. :)

Thanks for the short replies guys, I was unaware of the 72 hour restrictions. Hopefully it will not take that long. I appreciate the information.

Did your restrictions lift? I paid $19.99 to upgrade my account LAST WEEKEND! and it is still pending, what the heck is up with that. When I look at payment history it is still pending, and the restrictions persist. If you got yours taken care of, how did you do it? And just to be clear, it has been LONG over 72 hours, so lets not rehash that one people....

Are you referring to the account on which you are posting, Laylaraena?
