Q u o t e:
When will Blizzard allow account names on Battle.net? The rash of hacking has gone through the roof (anecdotally) since we switched to battle.net.
No there haven't, Vamptessa, this false perception has spread throughout the community but it is rumour with no basis in fact. The percentage of compromises has not changed significantly and claiming it, without any actual factual information, is simply perpetuating a falsehood.
Q u o t e:
I have played for over 5 years and new 2 people who got hacked before the battle.net switch over. Last night, the 9th person I know was hacked.
Which confirms nothing, Vamptessa. All that confirms is that the 9 people you know picked up a keylogger, fell for a phishing scam or in some other way failed to protect their log in information.
Q u o t e:
I would like to be able to sign into battle.net and choose a custom account name, like we had before, that is not shown anywhere. Once entered into wow, it doesn't really need to be typed again.
You have a custom account name, Vamptessa, in fact having a Battle.net account name is even more secure then the old method since you can change the "name" of your account by changing the e-mail address registered to it.
Also, once entered simply check the box that says "Remember Account Name" and it doesn't really need to be typed again.
Q u o t e:
At the very least, they could open up a 24/7 support line to help close the hacked accounts sooner and reduce the damage done.
Most damage done to an account is done within the first 15 minutes, Vamptessa. The best method to address these issues is to take the appropriate account/computer security precautions.

Either this or get off the pot and make authenticators mandatory in 30 days. You guys have to be losing a ton of money on support and I know my friends who have been crying over this crap, missing raids, etc.
And before you go on the nerd rage of "it's their fault" just stop. You don't need the bad Karma. Blizzard could do more to stop this mess.
Yes, I suppose we can have an employee follow you around and monitor your activities. I'm sorry, Vamptessa, that simply isn't a viable option as we aren't able to continually monitor you, we can't prevent you from using unsafe account and computer practices. It should also be noted that an Authenticator is an extra layer of protection, it isn't the end all or be all of security.
