There seems to be a rise in these. Maybe it's just my battle group.

It's like, what are you going to do about it, it's 5g.

I don't even see the point in ninja'ing something like that though.

I know some players who always roll need on these and some that just roll greed. I personally roll greed but I don't hold it against anybody who rolls need. I have roughly 30 of these in the bank now and had unsuccessful attempts to AH the last few so they just keep piling up.
