I just bought a wotlk upgrade and it was a slim case
I checked the tape all around it to see if it was recently opened or anything and it wasn't so I bought it and when i opened it up there was no cd key on the cd case or anything
There wasn't any indication that it was removed or that it was even there so I need help to find out if it was placed somewhere else or should I bring this back to the Wal-Mart I bought it from.

The following response was written by one of our new teammates. Because they are still in training and do not yet possess a forum account of their own, they shall be posting via proxy through me.

I’m not quite sure what you mean by the “slim”case Saiyonara, but if you purchased the Wrath of the Lich King from an independent retailer, your best bet would be to return it to the store you purchased it from in exchange for a fresh copy. If you can inform me what you are speaking of in reference to the “slim case” you mentioned, I may be able to shed some more light on the situation.

For reference, the following information is found within our Authentication Key FAQ:

Q u o t e:
Where is my authentication key located?

For the original 5-disc version of World of Warcraft, your Authentication Key should be located on the front of the manual if you have a Collector's Edition, or on the cardboard case for the CD sleeves if you have a Standard Edition. The authentication key for the 1-disc DVD-ROM version of World of Warcraft will be located on a label on the front of the cardboard case of the game's installation DVD.

For the Burning Crusade expansion set, your Authentication Key should be located on the front of your plastic CD case if you have a Collector's Edition, or on the front of the paper sleeve of the first CD if you have a 4-disc Standard Edition. The 1-disc DVD-ROM version of the Burning Crusade will be located on a label on the front of the cardboard case of the game's installation DVD.

If you have the World of Warcraft Battle Chest, there will be two Authentication Keys. The World of Warcraft Authentication Key will be located on a label on the front of the cardboard case of the game's installation DVD. Similarly, the Burning Crusade Authentication Key will be located on a label on the front of the cardboard DVD case for the expansion.

For the Wrath of the Lich King expansion set, your Authentication Key should be located on the front of your manual if you have a Collector's Edition, or on the front of the paper sleeve of the DVD if you have a Standard Edition.
