Must Have a Ranged Weapon Equipped Issue

Hi, I've currently been playing WoW on a different computer due to other technical difficulties on my home computer. I've been playing WoW on this different computer for as long as I've been playing WoW and once again, I've recieved another error. For whatever reason, I can't attack with my gun. It tells me I must have a ranged weapon equipped even though I clearly do. I have my ammo loaded and my gun repaird yet I still get this issue.

But I looked into it further myself and I figured it out it has to be a problem with Patch 3.3. Whenever I drag an icon from my character screen, like my gun's icon, it shows up as a big red question mark. Same with my two weapons and one of my rings. All my other equipment works fine. My stats on my gun still raise my character stats, same with my ring and my two fist weapons. What do you think could be the problem causing this?

Hrm, this does indeed sound like the result of a UI issue Øwl. Are you currently using any addons? You may try disabling them or, if that fails, resetting your UI completely. This should help resolve the strange question mark icons and error messages you are receiving.

    1) *IMPORTANT* Exit the World of Warcraft to your desktop by logging out of the game and exiting. If World of Warcraft isn't closed, then these steps won't have the desired effect.
    2) If you used an "installer" for a custom UI, see if it has an "uninstaller" and use it.
    3) Inside the World of Warcraft Program Folder, delete the "WTF," "Cache," and "Interface" folders.
    4) Restart your computer.
    5) Please do not reinstall Addons prior to testing the issue you were experiencing.
    6) Make sure that you are using WOW.EXE or LAUNCHER.EXE to start the game. Please do not run any UI installers beforehand, as we want to eliminate them as part of the issue.
    7) Upon launching the game, you should see the Intro cinematic movie and be prompted to agree to the Terms of Use. Once you authenticate past the login screen, the “AddOns” button should no longer be visible at the lower left corner of the character selection screen. Both points mentioned previously must hold true if you should complete the aforementioned steps correctly.

If this is the case, and you are still receiving this error, you may try running the WoW Repair Utility (Repair.exe within your World of Warcraft folder). This should clear out any client-side technical issues that would be preventing your character from experiencing this issue.
