Direct Online Upgrade taking a while.

Apologies if this is the wrong forum.

But my friend ingame (guildie, we talk on vent every time we're on) has given me the information for a prepaid card last night. Following his directions, I went to my battle.net account page, 'upgrade to Lich King', and 'direct online upgrade'. According to my friend, the transaction went through but I kept getting a message that said 'transaction unsuccessful'.

11 hours later, my account is not upgrades. I'm unsure of the state of the card as of yet.

Is this a normal wait for such a thing? Or have I encountered an error?

I'd hate to have wasted my friend's money. :(

(It was a gift, seeing as I couldn't afford it myself, and he pestered me so much to let him get it for me, I gave in. )

The following response was written by one of our new teammates. Because they are still in training and do not yet possess a forum account of their own, they shall be posting via proxy through me.

In the case of prepaid gift “credit” cards loaded with a pre-set cash value, often a call to our Billing and Account services department is required to process the transaction. Occasionally such cards are either incompatible with online purchases or at least must be registered to do so. If you have not already, follow the instructions on the card to “register” it and make the transaction. If this still does not work, you may need to contact Billing directly in order to upgrade your account.
