Battered Hilt upon a Faction Change?

Will my battered hilt convert with the faction change? Or will I lose it?
I got it on a Horde Hunter that I play for fun, and would like to get it to one of my mains Alliance side. Is this going to work?

The Battered Hilt will convert when you Faction Change, Sorano. If you already started the quest you will lose any quest items during the transfer but you should be able to return to the last NPC in the quest line and pick up the next quest.

To clarify. The item itself will swap. So if you had the Alliance version of the Battered Hilt and you faction changed that item would then become the Horde version of the Battered Hilt, regardless of what your character's faction was.
