The Authenticator is allowing me to log onto my account on the world of warcraft site. i double checked my account spelling and even reset my passoword but the game wont let me long on..i cant find any info of this happening online anywhere

Heya Snuggz, sorry to hear you’re coming up against this issue. If possible, try these steps to see if it helps you log in.
  • Open the World of Warcraft folder on your hard drive (Default Folder: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft or C:\Users\Public\Games\World of Warcraft for Vista users, Applications folder for Mac users).
  • Open the Data, and then the enUS folder.
  • Open the Realmlist.wtf file using a text editor, like WordPad. Make sure the lines in the file match the following:

      set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
      set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com
      set realmlistbn ""
      set portal us

If you need to, you can copy and paste these lines over any that are incorrect, save the file and close the file, and try the game once more.

After you’ve tried this, let us know if you’re still experiencing issues.

Alrighty, a few more questions for you then, if you have a moment.

  • How are you starting up World of Warcraft? (Are you using the Launcher, a secondary program, clicking the .exe file?)

  • What are the details on the file that is starting the program? (Right-click the icon you are selecting to start and choose Properties)

    • What is the Filename? (Example: c:/program files/World of Warcraft/wow.exe. )
    • What is the size of the file?
    • What is the Date Modified?

  • Have you tried running a virus or malware scan with the World of Warcraft game client running?

Q u o t e:
the launch in the wow folder has diff info..

The information on the size of the file you listed is for the shortcut to the launcher. Can you give me the size of the Target file the shortcut points to? I this case, you listed “C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Launcher.exe”

How large is this file?
