Battered Hilt Drop Rate... Really?

Now I know you don't want everyone & their mother to get a battered hilt, but this is insane.

I don't get to run the three new 5-mans everyday, but I'd say I average a little less than two a day (some days all 3, some days none)... let's call it 12 dungeon runs a week. It's been about 5 weeks now since 3.3 launched... so let's say I've made 60 runs at an attempt to secure a Battered Hilt.

I've seen ZERO drop. I've never seen a hilt drop... let alone take my 1 in 5 chance of actually winning the roll. Let's say I'm "due" and I'm going to see one drop within the next week or two, for my 1 in 5 chance of winning the roll... that's still not very good odds of winning something that everyone will roll on.

And because it's Bind on Use, and it sells for insane amounts of gold (thanks for encouraging people to buy gold again... that's really helpful), you will always be rolling against your full group.

Make it BoP, make it so you can't loot it if you already have one (or have a Q'D), and bump up the drop rate a bit.

Just jumping in here to let you know we aren't ignoring this topic but simply have no current plans to make any changes to this item. We know that this can be frustrating under certain circumstances but we don't feel that this frustration will really be avoided unless we give out the item on a consistent basis which we don't want to do.

Having the item as BoE allows people who really want the item to get it via a trade or the auction house which I know several players have been able to do. Yes, this can cost a lot of gold but through some consistent focus it is possible to save up the money for this and the prices have continued to go down as the weeks have gone by which only helps.

Q u o t e:
Remember kids, exploit every problem in a new patch right away! That way you can make tons of gold and get items others will have only a small chance at. Its happened several times before and so far it's had no consequences.

If you didn't manage to exploit the unintended drop rate, you're only choice is to buy from those that did.

No need to be so dramatic. Sure some people made money in this regard but this was fixed pretty early on and a lot of players have gotten theirs now from the post-fix drop rate and the price is continuing to go down as it is.
