On tuesday my guild was going to get a head start on ICC by doing the 10 man version first b4 the nightly raid. As always we try to min/max. Our groups needs things like brez, replen, kings, fort, soul stone, and other such buffs.

Now ive never been sat b4 cause i pull my own waight in a raid and make few mistakes. But we had to many RANGED (not casters) dps that wanted to go and not enough ppl online when servers came up to make 2 groups.
So as always we look for the ppl who are needed cause they bring usfull buffs. Now i was the only shammy online and at first they wanted to bring me for HERO, but when going threw the needed buffs, and group makeup i was the odd man out.

I wasn't mad i got sat cause the group looked like i was the only1 with the option to sit cause of lack of things to offer a raid. I was kinda shocked tho when i started to realy think about it. I DONT HAVE NEEDED BUFFS.

All i realy can offer a raid is my personal dps or ToW(witch is not as good as DP and costs us a lot of personal dps to use).

I would like to know what it is we offer a raid that others dont?

Well i did leave somethings out "for shock value" i guess.

The group comp was almost all physicl dps. There was 11 ppl online to raid, so the choice was me or a warlock, they didnt want to sit either of us. They wanted to have 3 healers just to be safe while learning the fight. And they asked if i would sit and go to a later group. So i did.

But that got me to thinking what is it an (ELE) shammy realy brings to a raid. That isnt brought by others. What buff or raid utility to we realy bring, do we have lock roks, soulstones, mage table, int, kings, fort, spirit, other melee buffs, comanding shout, replen, what is it we provide?

That should have been the way i said it. But i do like to add some shock value to my posts.

Q u o t e:
Well my main point is still valid. Our buffs/raid utility in 25 mans is garbage and there is no other way to look at it. I get more requests to be but in a group for my racial +1% hit than i get put i a group for totems.

Now isnt that messed up.

p.s. i know my spelling and grammer is bad in all my posts, my english is bad.

I think a lot of players would roll their eyes at a shaman saying their buffs and utility are garbage. Regardless, you shouldn't get brought for your buffs and utility anyway. That whole system is really there for three reasons:

1) You feel more powerful in a group because of all the synergy.
2) You have motivation to try and have a variety of classes / specs in your group.
3) The various classes and specs feel different, which adds depth and interest to the game.

It's clear some players out there desperately want

4) The unique buff that insures everyone desperately wants them in their raid.

We just don't like that design at all. That was more or less the design in BC and it had a ton of problems. At a high level, there are 30 specs in the game, so you couldn't even fit all of their "you must bring me" buffs in a 25 player raid, let alone a 10 player raid.

There are plenty of Elemental shaman raiding, even in some of the best guilds of the world (and that is not true of every spec in the game). Those guys must think more highly of Ele than your friends do.

P.S. I'm pretty tolerant of players who are trying to post in their second or third language. I wish other posters were as well. For posters who speak English as a first language and just don't have good spelling and grammar skills, well, hopefully your point will still get through. :)
