Why the nerf to deathwhisperer

The encounter seemed to be tuned just fine.

Technically, not too difficult, yet just challenging enough so you had to be on top of your game.

While nothing terrible for players with skill and experience, it's my opinion that deathwhisper has stood as a huge, poorly placed roadblock to pugs and casual groups, chiefly in the 25 man version.

In my opinion, bosses should more or less progress in difficulty the further into the raid you encounter them. The disparity between this fight compared to the gunship and marrowgar encounters is i think too much for its position in the raid as a whole.

It was just sad to see all the "LFM ICC 1/4 bosses down" in trade. I'm glad blizzard is giving casuals a fighting chance here. It's the normal mode, we always knew it would be adjusted to give people a chance to see the content.

I trust the hard mode difficulty will remain unaffected.

I was going to reply but this summed things up pretty well. A lot of players killed Lady Deathwhisper, but a lot of people also struggled with it which wasn't the intent. These changes did not impact on the heroic version though changes may be made down the road on those as they start to see some action.

struggled how much? i mean, is it really a big deal if some guilds had to wipe for a night to down her?

Struggled to a point that we weren't happy with it, heh. Is it a big deal for some to wipe? Not really, but we did leave it for a month and having a bit of a roadblock that early on can be rough especially when there are now 3 more piles of flesh to tackle.
