Actually, there is good reason for reporting such activities.

The entire reason there is a problem with accounts being stolen is because there is real world, cold hard cash, exchanged for WoW accounts, gold, characters, items and services. That cash drives the entire black market of hackers, gold-sellers, etc. Without the demand of the "buyers", there would not be any sellers.

You can personally choose to turn a blind eye to that, but it really does have a massive impact on our game - whether we're the victim of a hack directly or indirectly, get annoyed by gold-seller spam, get angry when a hacker bot swipes all our nodes - it's all tied back to a small group's willingness to set a dollar sign value on something that is, by the Terms of Use, not supposed to have one.

Very well said, Eilethalua. These activities can both directly and indirectly affect the experience that our players have in-game. Should you run across such an auction or advertisement, please report it to the agency that is hosting the advertisement, as well as directly to us via email at [email protected].

We appreciate these reports, and we are grateful to those who invest personal effort to make World of Warcraft a better place. It is regrettable that there always seem to be posts decrying posters who are interested in raising their voice against exploitation.

I would submit, from my own personal perspective, that apathy can be amongst the most destructive of human conditions.
