Hacked Here. Perhaps through WoW Armory ?

Hi there! My account got hacked this morning, though to my memory, the only two places I have used my account information was the night that the WoW Armory was down for maintenance (the official site link from the WoW homepage) and Account Management.

Strange thing was that I'm still able to log into my account now with the same password, but going to change that right now.

Two quick questions I have is who do I e-mail about this and is there a phone number I call to report my account being hacked?

My guild members also have a bank log that my toon withdraw the bank 8 hours ago (over the early morning) so there is a time frame window in tracking this down as well.

Thanks!

I recall some of those fake Armory pages, they were fairly convincing. Many of them attempted to spoof the addressed by using zeros or -addresses to make it look as close to the original as possible.

If you come across a site that you believe to be fake you can usually report it to the search engine.

Google's link is below.

We also recommend forwarding the address to our Hacks Department.

Keep trying to get through to our Billing department, Khaiya, I'd also recommend sending in an e-mail from your registered address.

o Billing@Blizzard.com

Someone will be with you as soon as possible. Once you have regained full access to the account check your characters and submit a petition reporting the compromise. Your case will be forwarded for further investigation and you will be contacted once that investigation has been completed.

No one is saying that you should laugh it off, Warnut.

The fact of the matter is, we did not compromise your account or by any lack of security on our part cause your account to be compromised. No not is saying "it's your fault neener neener". They want you to take proper precautions to prevent it from happening again.

They know that we will do everything in our power to repair whatever damage was caused but shouting from the rooftops and placing blame where is does not belong is a waste of time and harms others by the simple fact that they may not take their own security seriously enough.
Q u o t e:

I have played other MMO's and this is the FIRST time any of my accounts have ever been hacked.

Well to be fair, perhaps those accounts weren't considered valuable enough to go through the trouble.

A little sympathy would be nice.

You have it, Warnut, of course you do but I hope you can understand it from our point as well. Good luck on a speedy recovery, Warnut.

BUT you know what I QUIT!

If this is the way you treat someone that has been wronged. I am done.

I'm not certain what you mean, Warnut, but I wish you luck and hope you have correctly reported your compromise and taken the proper precautions to make sure your account is secure. Once your compromise investigation is complete our Investigation Team will contact you with the results.

I think this thread has outlived its usefulness and I would rather not suspend anyone if I can avoid is so I'll lock it instead.
