My Festergut experience (25)

My guild, after having reformed a little over a month ago, recently hit a huge roadblock in our journey through ICC... Festergut. So far we've spent more attempts on this guy than any other boss in ICC as far as progression goes. We've had some close kills (200k health on one...) and some shoulda been kills, but all in all we are nowhere near having solid attempts throughout the night.

I happen to be the best geared tank in my guild, so naturally they put me in 2nd tank to taunt before the 3rd inhale blight. Man... this guy hits like a champion. im seeing 35k hits (with indestructable pot) after the 3rd inhale. Basically... if I take two hits back to back without shieldwall up, im dead.

His gear is close to mine, but not quite at the same level. Yet, when its his turn to tank the 3rd inhale blight... it doesnt even compare to the incoming damage that I'm taking. His overall block value and OP as hell Ardent Defender almost seem to make it cruise control for him.

At the same time... He's pulling 4.5k dps and 17k Tps during these attempts where I cant even manage 3.4kdps and 12k Tps on a regular basis. Some of you guys are prolly thinking... "You are a tank... dps isnt important" well... when you wipe at 200k on the enrage timer... you start thinking. "If i coulda pulled out another 500 dps.. it woulda been a kill"

I dont understand why I'm about to be nerfed.. if anything i need a buff. If your gonna nerf my utility... buff my survivability. Buff my Dps/Tps output...

to sum it up... dont nerf paladins, Buff warriors.

Festergut is a pretty tough pile of flesh and stiches. So far we are pretty happy with the balancing in the Plagueworks and like how the progression is going. Yes, he is hard but that is pretty intentional and we will make changes if we feel they are necessary.

Don't forget that we mentioned awhile back (link for reference: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=21038229051&sid=1 ) that eventually there will be a buff for all players in the dungeon which will not directly be a nerf but will make the encounters easier to get past for those who are struggling.
