The 3.3 changes were not nessicary. I understand that the developers felt like they needed to do something to compensate for killing the weapon swapping addons, but giving all Rogues a free 2k+ DPS boost through the deadly poison changes did nothing but break Rogue PvE more than it already was. That being said, the 5% nerf to Hunger for Blood did nothing to fix that problem as we already know. So today I wake up and see more nerfs that I had been waiting on.
Q u o t e:
* The base damage bonus from Hunger for Blood has been reduced from 10% to 5%.
* The bonus damage rogues gain from attack power for poisons has been decreased. This applies to Instant Poison, Deadly Poison, and Wound Poison.
As for poisons:
Wound coefficient is down from: "0.04*AP" to "0.036*AP"
Deadly from: "0.12*AP" to "0.108*AP"
These changes also do nothing to address the real problem. The changes to Deadly Poison in 3.3 are what caused all of this. Also the change to wound poison is especially puzzling(secret PvP nerf lawls) considering that combat rogues have been using instant poison instead of wound since 3.3.
The other core issue I see with Rogue PvE right now is the fact that Rupture is defunct. Even before 3.3 Rupture had become outscaled by envenom and eviscerate and the majority of well geared rogues were using ruptureless cycles. This made Rogue cycles stupidly easy, and with the 3.3 deadly poison changes any Rogue can achieve huge numbers. This is the major issue...big numbers are far too easy to achieve. Any long time Rogue will tell you that Rupture uptime was the key between normal(for lack of a better term) and outstanding Rogues.
How do I propose they fix these issues? Revert the 3.3 changes to deadly poison and all changes since 3.3 , and find a way to permanently address the weapon swapping addons(even though a lot of rogues were not using them). Also change Glyph of Rupture(which is useless in it's current form) to give rupture the ability to crit. This would allow Rupture to outscale envenom and eviscerate again and would force Rogues to actually have their eyes open while going through their DPS cycles.
TLDR: Revert all Rogue changes since 3.3 since they have been in the complete opposite direction of where they should have been. Change glyph of rupture to give rupture the ability to crit.
