Fellow Hack Victims - Restoration Timeline?

I am very disappointed with Blizzard's swiftness of service right now. I was hacked on 01/08/10 and got my account back after 4 days. It is Jan 18 and I still have not gotten my items restored. When I tried to get an update from the GM, he/she said it would take WEEKS to get my items back.

So I effectively get to level an alt until they get to my account. This is several weeks lost of real playtime and yet I have been offered no compensation. Only a "I'm sorry this is taking so long."

When you try to call customer service, most of the time you will get a message saying "we are too busy to take your call, call back later." That is expected from government services like the IRS, but WoW? Seriously?

This has been a very frustrating experience. From a person who has spent so much time and money into the game to get this poor service is not making me a happy camper. It is especially frustrating because not even 6 months ago, it took ONE DAY to get my account back AND my items back after a similar compromise experience. I'm sitting at 10 days with a GM telling me "weeks" for my account to be restored while my guild is without their main tank and all I can do is try to gear up and level alts...

I appreciate the professionalism of the employees I have spoken with, and do not blame them at all. If they had also had poor customer service, I would be playing another game.

I hope that my account issue is resolved swiftly, as I and some others I know are not thrilled with the slow response times.

Good morning, Marybelle.

After taking a quick look into our investigation queue, I've found that your investigation is nearing the top of the queue and should be addressed within the next 1 to 2 days -- 3 at most. Accordingly, I encourage you to remain patient just a bit longer as we work to assist you as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your patience, Mary. I hope to see you back in the game, fully equipped in the very near future.

Best wishes.

Can you also check my position in queue?

Currently, the average wait time for all investigations is approximately 8 to 9 days from the time you submitted your in-game petition. Accordingly, it seems that it may take another 6 to 7 days still for your investigation to be completed, Reetu.

Bummer :( Thanks for checking.

If I log in and play on the affected characters, will that delay or mess up the investigation/reimbursement process in any way?

Not at all! Please feel free to play as normally as you can in the meantime. :)

You truly do not need me to determine your place in queue, everyone!

Simply remember back to when you first submitted your in-game petition, add 8 to 9 days, and voila! There you have your approximate restoration date. :)

So is the possible restoration time still about 8-9 days once a ticket is opened or GM notified?

Still hovering a bit over a week, yes, Listanna.
