Thanks to blizzards [removed] leak of our email addresses i just recieved a couple more phising emails trying to get my account information.
To top it off i actually had my account hacked last night and all my chr deleted off the realm i was playing on.
This is all due to blizzards lame [removed] idea to merge everyones account to a battlenet account and use your email address as a loggin name instead of us keeping our unique logins that we could change to prevent this type of [removed] from happening.
Way to go blizzard thanks for the top notch security

I'm terribly sorry, Shascar and Dethmar, but I'm afraid you're mistaken if you have come to the conclusion that we are leaking your registered e-mail address. I encourage you both to pay careful attention to the following portion of our "Fake" E-mails from Blizzard thread:

Q u o t e:
Why am I receiving these e-mails? What can I do to ensure malicious parties do not have my e-mail address?

In most cases, e-mail addresses are gleaned from unofficial World of Warcraft web pages (guild websites, fan sites, etc) and social networking sites (Facebook, Myspace, etc). To help prevent the reception of these emails in the future, you may wish to set-up a new, separate email address and register it to your Battle.net account. When selecting the username and password for this new email address, ensure that neither overlap with that of any World of Warcraft account merged with your Battle.net account or any other login type (guild websites, Facebook, MySpace, etc).

Once this address is registered, do not use it for anything else: no additional registrations, no guild websites, no newsletter sign-ups, et al. Keep this address isolated to your Battle.net account.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Your registered Battle.net email address is also your account name. Creating an email address exclusively for this purpose and keeping it secret can be an important step in securing your World of Warcraft account.

Additionally, the claims that a member of the Game Master staff has compromised your account and was in-turn fired are fallacious. Again, I apologize for any confusion, but it seems that the only reported compromise on your account, Dethmar, was a result of unauthorized access by a party completely unrelated to Blizzard Entertainment. A lot of hard work, time, and effort goes into restoring a player's account following a compromise; it would be counter-intuitive for us to promote or endorse this sort of activity.

We will make every effort possible to help you keep your account secure. Unfortunately, however, there are people out there who want your account information and will go to all lengths to acquire it. I encourage you to read the aforementioned "Fake" E-mails thread in full so that you may better protect yourself moving forward. Similarly, the following thread contains a plethora of helpful information that may help you protect your computer:
