These forums are 100% useless

It really frustrates me that GC is discouraging people from looking at dps from a non gimmick point of view. When assessing balance, in order to compare two classes, removing all other factors that may influence dps should be done. Thats just common sense. U aren't going to try to compare melee dps to caster dps on a fight where melee sit around half the time. In order to try to compare class balance, fight mechanics must be removed.

Unless blizzard wants us to compare class balance purely in context with raid mechanics. In that case, these forums are 100% utterly useless. Its simply too complicated to compare two different classes when taking into account complicated fight mechanics, coupled with how narrow minded blizzard has become in respect to hard data (rogue dps anyone?). If GC won't take the evidence countless people have offered of rogues outperforming other classes as legitimate cause for a nerf, what will? I cannot think of a better example of class imbalance than this, unless 80% of all people stop playing a class. "Class balance" is virtually nonexistent and does not matter whatsoever because classes are balanced around fight mechanics instead of each other. Why even have these forums if classes are not made to be equal to each other?

In the end, one thing blizzard has to remember is that not all people complain about dps on these forums because they are scared of losing their raid spot. Many of them (including me) actually like the competition of dps in this game. I like the feel of beating other people (as long as I am doing my job on the fight mechanics), and im sure other people do. Competing with myself, or the one other warlock in the raid gets rather boring.

We're never going to take "the evidence of countless people" to let the community design or balance the game for us. You'll be less frustrated if you stop looking for the magic button that lets you get your way. Please don't equate my accessibility here to a politician looking to get influenced by lobbyists to make changes beneficial to the lobbyists. Think of the blue interactions here as a more responsive customer comment card. Did you like the food? If not why? We're not inviting you into the kitchen to pick up the carving knife, nor asking you for your favorite recipe.

Q u o t e:
Um, did you really get the idea that GC said changes might happen? If you have read any of his recent posts, the tone is pretty negative towards people supporting fixing rogue dps. Saying blizzard could make changes isnt thinking realistically and really has nothing to do with what GC is saying. Sure there could be a hotfix that makes all classes equal tomorrow, but that really has nothing to do with my post. My post is about what GC has said in the recent past.

I understand that when you really want a succinct answer and don't get one that the next best thing is to try and guess at our answer based on things like "tone." Please understand why that's dangerous to do. If we wanted to give a succinct answer, we would have. If we haven't done that yet, there is probably a reason we have not done so yet. One answer is that we think you're nuts, but a more likely one is we are still discussing the issue, gathering more information or trying to come to a consensus.

Q u o t e:
His tone was negative towards people constantly QQing over something that really shouldn't be much of an issue.

I’m at a little bit of a disadvantage in my communication here because I think some players read my posts and assume I am directly answering their post. Since having simultaneous 1v1 conversations with hundreds of people is tough, I try to speak more broadly. When I am being sarcastic, I am usually doing so in response to bad posts, not because I think the entire issue being discussed is wholly without merit.

Q u o t e:
Then what do we use to make our point what other data does the players have at their disposal.

Blizz wont release their data to us. So we can only use what we have access to

We're not looking to you guys to be our QA department. We're not asking you to balance the game or even solve problems for us. If you want to offer feedback, great, that's what these forums are for.
