Old Account - Never Merged with Battle.Net

I have an old account that I haven't used in almost a year. I't just been sitting there dormant, unpaid. Today I wanted to turn it back on. I go to logon and it says that I have to use the Battle.Net account to logon. I NEVER MERGED IT... EVER. And before you say that the account has been compromised, I highly doubt it since it hasn't been paid for in almost a year so no one has been logging onto it to get keylogged. Did blizzard "automatically" merge it with some email they pulled out of their [Removed]? If so I cant find any info on it. If they didn't then, how could someone have hacked it when no one was using the account?

I understand that this is a frustrating situation, Seeleretter, but rest assured that we will get to the bottom of this. Let me start out by saying that we would not have merged an account to a random Battle.Net account. If an account has been un-active since before the merge was mandatory, then they will simply be left that way, unbound, until merged to a Battle.Net account.

If you can provide me with the name and realm of a character that is on the account in question, I can look into this a bit further.
