Dear customer service,

My wife and I recently got in an arguement, and she accessed my account and deleted my characters. I did not give her my password but it is a password that I use for most things. She is my wife after all, so I didn't mind her knowing it.

Is there a way I can have my account recovered? I sent in a ticket. At the time I sent in the ticket I thought a hacker had done it, but now I know whom did it. I was going to edit the ticket but I thought that might make my que take longer.

Can blue let me know what the normal procedure is? I heard of this new care package thing that helps speed up the process. Would it at least give my 80 back, naked?

Q u o t e:
Editing your petition does not cause it to lose its place in the queue, so I'd recommend editing it to explain what happened so that a Game Master can take a look into the situation. In addition, it would help to include the following information in your petition, as well:

  • Character name(s)
  • Realm(s) the character(s) are on
  • Level, class, and race of the character(s)
  • The time and date of the loss (as precisely as possible)
  • How the item(s) or character(s) were lost (if you know)
  • Confirmation that you're willing to use a limited restoration

Unless this turns out to be a complex restoration (such as if she deleted your characters' items prior to the characters themselves), a Game Master should be able to handle this as soon as they receive your petition and so there will be no need to place it in the escalation queue.

Indeed, the edit would be a wise idea, as this can prevent an unnecessary and lengthy compromise investigation if you are absolutely certain that your spouse accessed your account. I will say that it is best to keep your account password confidential - even from those you trust. This can help prevent passionate feelings leading to an unfortunate situation =(.
