Faction change & Battered hilt reward concern

On my main character (horde), I obtained a battered hilt and completed the quest chain. I received my mace and equipped it. I have recently thought about doing a faction change on that character. Will the quest reward remain the same, will it disappear, or will I have to re-do the quest chain? I couldn't really find a definite answer so hopefully I can get a response. Thanks.

I believe the item should be the same when transferring over, Trixxta. If not, however, it would be changed into the Alliance equivalent of the mace you chose when finishing the quest on your Horde character.
