Recruit a Friend Triple Experience Points

Ok i am fairly new to World of Warcraft and this is my first forum post so please excuse anything that might come off as "wow ignorant".

I have a question about the recruit a friend system.

I currently have a level 42 character and i recruited my younger brother under the assumption that the 3x-exp thing would take effect. the transportation thing works (very cool) , but after some playing around and testing i have found that the triple exp thing only works at certain times.

I have read through the forums and am aware that it won't work from killing mobs if i am lev 41 and my brothers character is level 5 so my question IS: If me(lev41) was to party with my brother (lev5) shouldn't HE still be able to get triple exp from the quest rewards?

Sorry for the misunderstanding, Garthon, I think the following FAQ has the most detailed information about the RaF program: (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=8765628748&sid=1). The most pertinent that will assist in clearing up your specific question is the Experience gain Q&A section:

    Q: Does the boosted experience gain continue through level 70?

      A: No, the bonus experience gained through this feature will stop for a specific character at level 60.


    Q: How does the bonus experience work?

    Let's say we have Account A with a level 70 character, Account B with a level 1 character and Account C with another level 1 character, all three characters are grouped. Account B and Account C are linked, will they receive triple experience?

      A: Bonus experience should only be granted if the experience is not trivial to anyone in the group. Our Quality Assurance Team is looking into reports that some of these restrictions are not consistent and hope to resolve the issue soon.


    Q: Does a character from your veteran account have to be grouped with a character on the recruited account to get the experience bonuses?

      A: Yes, you must be partied and in close proximity with a character from the linked account in order to receive the experience bonus.


    Q: How do I know I'm getting this triple experience bonus?

      A: In the combat log you'll see "Player gains x experience (=y amount from Refer-a-Friend).
