Shadow's edge quest chain loot bug

My guild killed Festergut and Rotface yesterday and because of the loot bug described by Bornakk in this thread, http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=22418851790&sid=1 it is clear that the system was not working as intended last night. So, one of the items was mislooted on accident. After ticketing a GM, the reply was simple. "We have investigated the situation and unfortunately, the item is no longer available for transfer. Why couldn't the GM have simply moved the item when both people, the one who looted and the one who should have gotten the item, both put in tickets to have the item moved? Any insight into this situation would be appreciated.

Mind giving me the names of the players involved, Pri? I may not be able to provide information regarding another's account but I'll give you what advice or explanation I can.

Though no restoration is ever guaranteed, Kleevage, if we receive a petition from the person who is in possession of the item soon after the looting error we will likely be able to help.
