Can you get banned for botting?

i always heard it was bannable, but when i reported obvious botters i would still see them 2 weeks later farming in the same spot, as unresponsive to me as ever when i start murdering them while theyre on a mob. i didnt even know what to report them under. blizz still has no mention of botting anywhere when you open a ticket to report a botter. that tells me that they really dont care. so should i start botting? ive got a lot of homework lately.
