I was hacked over a week ago and I don't go to any wow websites. I play enough wow, I don't need to visit wow websites when i'm not playing.

Furthermore I ran McAfee anti-virus, add-aware, and microsoft's windows defender, all up-to-date, and all picked up nothing after the attack.

I took the added initiative and completely re-formatted both of my hard drives anyway and re-installed windows vista but...

In all honesty I have NO CLUE how I got hacked. Now 3 of my guildes had the exact same thing happen to them;

They woke up, and there was an authenticator on their account, the account was hacked, and they TOO found nothing when running their anti-virus, and anti-spyware programs..

Are you guys at blizzard sure there's not some other way people are breaking into accounts, because ever since you guys made the switch to battle.net accounts it seems like more and more people are being hacked. I personally have been playing wow since vanilla beta, and havn't had any problems up untill a week ago.

dunno.. just a thought

Absolutely, Anubiss, our systems are secure.

Part of account security is keeping your account name and password secure.

It is important to note that one of the major oversights in security is using the same password for multiple applications. If you use the same password for World of Warcraft that you do for your e-mail address, which would likely also be your account name, that could prove to be an issue.

It is also important to note that many of these keylogger programs are designed to steal only wow account information and a number of the detection programs out there may not work to find them.

I was going to allow the "discussion" to continue but there are far too many disparaging remarks flying around.
