Cant get past 289999 xp points

i am lvl 60 hunter my xp bar filled all the way up but wont give me that last point to level. I am still earning xp on kills it just doesnt show on my xp bar. I just installed trial version of burning crusade so i cant figure why its not getting to 61

Though this thread may have been resurrected unnecessarily, there's still good information to highlight. If you are playing on The Burning Crusade 10-day trial, the level cap for your characters is just shy of 61. While you will be able to gain experience through level 60, you will be unable to level past it. The same holds true for the Wrath of the Lich King trial and its level cap, which is just shy of level 71.
