It's Been TOO Long

Every day I used to play WoW. I had a Level 36 Hunter, Level 8 Warrior, Level 13 Paladin, and more. Things were so great, until I decided to quit, about 3 patches before WoTLK came out. I was a TBC Account, and was running out of days on my game card. The day I ran out, (Sept. 17, or 19 2007) I no longer played WoW. I got into other games. For an extended period of time I was offline to friends, and the Blizzard Community altogether. Through-out that extended period of time, I do believe that I may have used such WoW Account info onto some forum website...I do regret doing this, because, once WoTLK came out I was ready to start playing again. Then about 2 months after it's release, I noticed I couldn't log-in to my account in-game. I thought, 'Well of course I can't, I need to put more days on my account.' So, what I did was I went onto the community website, and attempted to log-in. It suprised me that my usual password was incorrect. But so was apparently my Account name. I then tried recovering my password, didn't work. Then I tried Account name, obviously didn't work either. So then, I thought, 'What if my account was hacked..?' So, I decided to send an e-mail to Blizzard about it. Then, whenever I tried to, I looked upon my list of e-mails, one stated from Blizzard, that I was SELLING my account. I though this impossible, because I had never attempted to sell my account at any point and time. Then it hit me. 'I was hacked..' So, I sent my e-mail, telling them of their false accusations. From that point on, I kept getting e-mails that were countlessly coming up. I assumed they were all just pre-written e-mails. (Which they are...) Eventually I had given up, and decided to create a new account for Christmas. I ask for any assistance I get from a worker at Blizz, or possibly someone close to a Blizz Employee. I can no longer bear the wait. I need that account back...

Okay, so, I gather from your post that you left for an extended period of time, and wish to return to World of Warcraft.

The issue at hand is that you do not seem to be able to log in using your established account name and password. This makes some sense because all accounts must now be merged into a Battle.net account to be eligible to play World of Warcraft.

do suspect that your account might have been compromised - but the emails you received regarding the sale of your account were not from us. Such emails are examples of phishing attempts designed to steal account information. Regardless, I'd like to help set you on the right track. Can you tell me the name and realm of a character on that account? That may provide me with the necessary information to provide you with further guidance in turn.

Why of course.

Realm Names: Azjol-Nerub, Perenolde

Realm Characters:
- Azjol-Nerub
Amundakan (Level 36 Hunter)
Zenonhan (Level 13 Paladin)
Kentam (Level 13 Paladin)
Sabent (Level 8 Warrior)

- Perenolde
Ceemore (Level 4 - 5 Warlock)

Okay, at this point, it appears that your best bet will be to contact our Billing & Account Services staff. It seems that identity verification will be necessary to reacquire the account, and though the appropriate steps should have been sent to your registered email address, due to the nature of this compromise, you may no longer have access to that message. Our staff should be able to help set you back on the correct track though.

Here's their contact information for your convenience:
