Recruit a friend bug

Hi, my brother recently came back from kentucky and we decided to play some wow. He bought the full set of games and we headed home. I did the little recruit a friend email and he registered from there. After we finished all that and upgraded all the versions of wow, we both logged on. When we were on it said he was still on a trial account and we weren't getting the full 3x experience that we should be getting (i did the math :>). I've had a ticket up for the last 20 hours and the blizzard line keeps cutting me out after 30 minutes (wait time is 50). I know that the RAF IS working because there is an orb next to his name on my friends list. please help

The triple experience should apply from the moment you have linked your account with the Recruit-A-Friend promotion, though; it is in no way connected to the fact that you are still restricted by the trial status. What level are you and your friend? Check your Combat Log and see if the following line is present after killing a monster:

"Player gains 'X' experience ('Y' exp Refer-A-Friend bonus)"


Correct! In-game Recruit-A-Friend benefits—triple experience and character summoning, for example—should not be impeded by temporary trial restrictions. If you are not receiving either bonus, please take a moment to review the restrictions:

For triple experience:
    Rule 1) Veteran and recruit character must partied and within 100 yards of one another
    Rule 2) Mobs killed and quests completed must be marked neither "Low Level" nor gray in difficulty for either the veteran or the recruit character
    Rule 3) Should one character be more than 4 levels higher than the other, only the lower level character will receive the experience boost. Rule 2 still applies.



For character summoning:
    Rule 1) Veteran and recruit character must of the same faction and on the same realm
    Rule 2) Summoning target must be below level 61
    Rule 3) To summon a linked veteran or recruit through the Friends List interface, the target must be first added to this list through the normal script command (/friend <charactername>)
