You may not have the pet, Gatito, but you did complete the quest line already to receive it. You likely gave, traded or deleted the Mechanical Chicken though.
Given the Bind on Equip nature of these pets we may not be able to restore them but it never hurts to inquire. Submit an in-game petition and ask if they can restore it for you.

Well, no you wouldn't have the beacon in your inventory, you already found it and turned it in. :) You need to return to the OOX in that area and escort it to safety.

If someone initiates the escort you may need to wait until that is either completed or failed and the OOX returns to its spawn point.

The functionality to check completed quests is now available to mod-makers, Ketjana.

With 3.3 an option was implemented that allows players to pull up a list of completed quests. There are already several addons that make use of this information to allow players to figure out where they are in regards to this quest line.

Just to remind everyone, with 3.3 our Developers provided access to the completed quest list. This allows those who create addons to give players the ability keep track of which quests they have done. I recommend visiting the UI & Macro forum for advice on which one may work best for your purposes.

The character you listed found and turned in the beacon in the Hinterlands thus far. You still need to find and escort the OOX in that area as well as complete the others steps.

As a reminder, folks, our Development Team implemented an option to retrieve which quests you have completed. People who create addons have been able to use this information to provide you with addons that can tell you what quests you may still need.
We will try to provide this information when possible but it would be best if you use the tools that have been made available to you as it we may not be able to get to your inquiry immediately.

This question isn't very common, Mistmore, so a sticky really wouldn't be worth it. When the question does pop up I think it would be fairly easy to provide the advice you did. :)

You turned in the beacon in Tanaris, Jalaurian, but you still need to rescue the OOX in that area. Return to the Mechanical Chicken in Tanaris and escort it to safety. :)

An excellent idea, Xarla, and one that would be perfect to post in the Suggestion forum. Our Developers implemented the ability for players to retrieve their own progress already though by implementing a command that can be used. This has enabled several addon creators to use this new command within their addons to allow players to pull up a list of quests they have already completed.
Prior to this introduction those of us who moderated this forum as well as our In-Game Support Reps tried to provide this information because there simply was no other way to get it. Now though we ask that you use the avenues available whenever possible.
Besides an addon you should be able to use the following command specifically for this quest line.

I believe the script indicates simply that you found the beacon. Not that you completed the rescue of the OOX in that area.
I'm not well versed with scripts so it would be best to visit the UI & Macro forum for additional advice or pick up an addon that helps track your completed quests.

Basically, Skatedude, you got lucky. The beacons for the OOX are not entirely common. You can find a beacon in your first kill or your thousandth, the odds of finding it are just the same.
Keep at it, you should eventually find it. :)
