I’ve tried to create and copy multiple characters in beta. When I try to copy a character from my account, i get “Copy Failed”, when I try to create a character , I get “error creating character”.

Apologies for not posting sooner, this is on our radar and is our top priority to fix. We’ve had some stability issues, mostly related to account and database load from all the character copy data and housing setup. We’ve implemented some fixes and we’re doing a quick restart on Beta realms to hopefully clean some of this up. We’ll update here if that doesn’t resolve the issue.

We’re seeing some intermittent successes with copy + templates, but plenty of errors too. Investigations are continuining.

We’re still investigating but we are seeing many cases where the copy/template goes through, just greatly delayed (like 10+ minutes, some as much as 30).
Obviously this is not intended, but for now we’re advising not spamming copies or character templates.

We’ve made some server changes and are now processing the queue faster than it’s growing, but there is a bit of a backlog to churn through. For example, I just made a template character and that was nearly instant, and my copy appeared to fail but by the time I logged onto another character and back out, it was done.
We keep looking into this tomorrow if reports continue overnight, but things are trending positively for now. Thanks for being patient!
