Character Locked on Faction Change

I paid for a character server transfer and faction change over 12 hours ago. Four hours after the faction change was paid for the character was still locked.

I called customer care and after waiting for over an hour, finally reached a representative. He assured me that it would not be much longer and that the process would be finished within the hour....

My character is still locked and unable to be logged onto. This is very frustrating and I would appreciate any sort of explanation as to what the holdup my be.

Yes I do realize that there is a disclaimer saying that it could take up to 5 days and blah blah blah.

I have spent a lot of money on these transfers numerous times and have never had to wait for more then an hour.

Please explain

These often go through quite quickly - but they can at times take awhile.

I am having this looked into just to make sure the processes are still humming along. In the meantime, I'd just check back periodically. Could be they are working through a backlog. There were a few issues last night that produced a longer than normal queue.

Thank you very much for your patience.

Oh good, cause I was gonna faction change but I think I will give it awhile to see if this clears up.

One quick check if these seem to be taking a long time is to see if the character in question is locked.

They actually SHOULD be if there is a transaction in process.

If not, that is a very good indication something happened in the process and canceling and starting over is usually a good idea.

This is being looked into Woozy.

Just one question. If you are having multiple transactions, did you log into the character inbetween steps?

That can avoid some fairly rare - but frustrating, complications from popping up.

I never logged in my account during the entire server transfer and then i started the faction change and still had not logged into my account only after about 7 hours did i log in to see if my char was locked. so no i did not log into my account from the time i started the server zfer and 7 into the faction change.

Woozy, if you didn't log in between these requests, I'd really recommend you cancel and restart and do that.

Really, there are a few oddities that can happen with multiple transactions if if you don't log into the character between requests.

While they are somewhat rare, it is so much better to avoid the possibility of the popping up than dealing with them if they do.

Ok but if my Char is locked you said that its going throught the process so if i cancle i dont want to be sent to the back of the line if its just a long wait time. also i have allready been charged for it atleast its what it says in my online banking wether its just pender or not i cant afford 2 pending 30$ fee's i do not want to overdraft.

If you cancel and restart there very likely will be two pendings. Actually, what I said is if the character is NOT locked, that's a good sign something stalled out. Being locked is what is supposed to happen, so that is just one possible check.

Sigh Negative account balance FTL i rly hope that other pending charge goes away soon.

That really depends on your bank's rules, Woozy - they determine those standards. Maybe could call them and see if they can clear it manually.

this character was transferred from my old account, along with my mage. i transferred this guy first, he showed up on the new account first, and i got him a faction change first. i did the same thing with the mage, except he came over second. the faction change went through on my mage, but not on this guy. i can't even cancel the change, his eligibility says "N/A." what gives? need a dwarf warrior here.

N/A quite often indicates it's done, and because it's done it's not eligible during the cool-down. You don't see him where he belongs?
