I keep getting disconnected randomly throughout the evening. its getting on my last nerver since i have an authenticator and have to re-enter my number every single time this happens. i suspect it is someone trying to get onto my account, since i was hacked and then right after i bought the authenticator had not changed my password seeing as how it wouldnt matter since i was "unhackable" now. but tonight i did change my password, and still i am getting disconnected. before you say "check your connection" my husband and i are on the same connection and he has not gotten disconnected once tonight. i have scanned my system for keyloggers and the like, nothing found. i dont want to say "i dont visit malicious sites" etc, because people say it and i am sure it gets old to you, but i DONT. I need someone to check and see if another ISP address is trying to access my account besides mine. i do visit a friend and use his ISP once in a while via my laptop, but that wouldnt compromise my account as i dont tell my info to anyone.

Anyway, i am frustrated and confused as to how this can be happening. i hope to hear something soon. Thanks.

Under the scenario you are describing - the only way this can be being caused by someone trying to access your account is if they are actually in your email and pulled your fresh password. Possible - we see emails compromised quite often at the same time accounts are, but this is likely something else.

Are you running any addons? May not be the cause, but a likely suspect - especially after a substantial patch. Could also be something technical on your machine - a driver for instance that is running into a conflict.

I'd start with a reset UI - a full one, make sure your addons are all up to date and see if this still happens.

If it does, this may be something you'd want to pursue with our technical guru's :)

To do a full reset UI, you will want to save your addons in another spot if you wish to preserve them.

Then rename/delete or move your WTF, Cache and Interface folders while WoW is shutdown. Reboot your system.

Note, if you are running Vista make sure your permissions are set so it does not undo your changes.

More detailed instructions for different operating systems, including Macs are here.
