Inaccurate queue times

Try to queue as dps as a DK or pally. The estimated wait time is unbelievably inaccurate. Usually it will say around 5-6 minutes and can be as long as 15 or more.

I would guess this is because the system tries not to place more then one of each type of class in each role. Since there are more DKs and pallies in queue for dps, the queue time is not valid for us.

Everyone else has the option of getting up to pee and having a reasonable expectation that if the wait time is 5 minutes and the get back in 3, theyre fine. Not so for my DK or pally. I have to sit there and watch it like a hawk or take my chances since the accept window is relatively small compared to a 20 minute wait time.

It's incredibly irritating to see the estimated wait time go from 5 minutes to 4 when you are currently at 10 minutes or more (if you understand how averages work in a first come first serve system, this means you were passed over for some reason).

This never happens with any of my other classes, only my pally and DK. And it's happened enough to know I'm not crazy.

Anyone else getting really tired of that?

Edit:
I did some testing with my paladin:

-When queued as a dps only the average queue time was 7 minutes.

-Requeued as healer only and the avg wait time was 2 minutes.

-Requeued as dps only again just to make sure and verified dps queue was still at 7 minutes.

-Queued as healer AND dps and the avg wait time was 2 minutes.

So it seems the queue times are seperate for each role and it only shows the wait time for the lowest queue

The tool basis its estimates (and they're only estimates based on recent groups formed) on role. We're adding more smartiness to have it take a look at average wait by class too.

It also needs to distinguish better between groups waiting to backfill (because someone bailed at the ready check part) and new players to the system.

It's debatable whether some of these Dungeon Finder questions are appropriate for the role forums. We often lock or move threads on say the Arena matchmaking algorithm. I would say if you want to post about Dungeon Finder (or any feature really), try and make sure your post has a lot to do with classes, or else there is probably a better forum for you to use. It will still get read.
