So You Have A High Volume Of Petitions Eh?

It's been like that for months since I resubbed. Whenever I had a problem, posted my ticket, I'd get that little tab telling me that you are currently experiencing a high volume of petitions. I'd wait days maybe before I decided it wasn't worth it.

Yea so I have this problem, I wanted it fixed, it's been 2 days going on 3 and no one has answered it. So if anything Blizzard, let me ask you this, what's causing you to have a "high volume of petitions"? I mean this is ridiculous, the in-game support simply sucks! I mean what if someone had a major problem that needed attention right then and there, but he was told "we're currently experiencing a high volume of petitions" and days passed and the problem wasn't solved?

You know at first I thought it might be people just spamming the crap out of it, but I thought you'd put a big "ignore this ticket" thing on the offenders' accounts. Then I thought you might be undermanned seeing as you look over a hundred servers with millions of people playing at a time. That's understandable, but then I'd request you hire more GM's, because demand is extremely high but you don't seem to have the supply.

So really Blizz, what the heck is up? What's causing me to have to wait days to have my problems (not) resolved?

As stated in many recent threads, the US offices of Blizzard are no longer hiring for GMs. The times for tickets were going down, but the new patch will cause a noticeable spike.

Although this job posting has been temporarily removed and we are no longer accepting applications for these positions, this does not mean we are through hiring Game Masters. We have a large number of applications on file; should we need more, a new job posting will be made.

Sadly, Blizzard likes to play the calculator math game when it comes to its "subscriber" numbers. They say 11 million people play wow, what they really mean to say, "we have sold 11 million units of wow, and we just tos those numbers into our subscriber count"

I'm afraid you are mistaken in this case. Our definition of "Subscriber" is as follows:

Q u o t e:
World of Warcraft subscribers include individuals who have paid a subscription fee or have an active prepaid card to play World of Warcraft, as well as those who have purchased the game and are within their free month of access. Internet Game Room players who have accessed the game over the last thirty days are also counted as subscribers. The above definition excludes all players under free promotional subscriptions, expired or cancelled subscriptions, and expired prepaid cards. Subscribers in licensees’ territories are defined along the same rules.

This information can be found on each of our press releases in which we reference active subscribers -- such as this one:
