Guild Signatures - What if they /leavguild

If you get signatures, is it possible for people to "unsign" before the guild is actually formed?

I also enjoy when my level 1 bank alt is asked to join a guild, and then never removed and I find out 3 weeks later he's been in the guild the whole time.
