Question: Clarification on Shadowmourne Quest

With every two hand damage dealer in a guild capable of doing 25 man content wanting one of these.. Is it reasonable of me (and Im sure a HOST of guild leaders, officers in guilds around the world) to want additional information about the Shadowmourne quest line?

It is becoming more and more difficult to side step questions about how we (the guild) are going to handle it. We don't have information about the Shards (one person at a time or any one on the quest) we dont have information on really anything other than "friendly rep to start" and "25 saronites and 3 quest items" for Shadow's Edge.

Knowing more information on this will make peoples life MUCH happier in the coming weeks before and during the first gating cycle of ICC. That way guilds can take appropriate action (deciding who, how the first one, if thats necessary, will be given to)

Any information would be greatly appriciated! (by thousands of people)

EDITED* Changed title to make it clearer what I was asking

There aren't a lot of mysteries left in the game these days so we sort of want to see players discover this quest chain as they actually progress through it.

We're also interested to see how various groups handle the Primordial Saronite issue. We designed it so there isn't necessarily a right way to handle the material and we don't want to over-prescribe your social dynamics anyway.

The only thing I will say is you shouldn't feel like you'll be really far behind if you don't immediately commit every resource towards completing Shadowmourne. You'll have some time to catch up once some of the later bosses unlock.

Primordial saronite isn't really the issue, it's the shadowfrost shards where the big question lies.

This shouldn't require a ton of planning except for perhaps deciding who is going for the weapon first. We're not yet in the mode of welfare legendaries. It's not going to be a trivial task to complete. Look to Val'anyr, or perhaps even a little tougher, as a guide.

Pretty strongly suggests that the best way to do it is farm trash to friendly this week and have everyone use their first badges to buy saronite for your designated person to start collecting shards asap. If you buy your t10 first and just rely on drops you'll lose 4-6 weeks.

The important thing is starting the shard collection, which means saronite asap.

You can spend your saronite how you wish. That doesn't mean you're going to be at a massive head start in collecting shards.

Now eventually you could fall behind if you continually delay starting the quest.
