Is Blizz now using GearScore?

I was just reading the patch notes and in the section on the new Dungeon Finder section there was this.

As part of the matchmaking system, some of the more difficult dungeons will have a minimum gear requirement. Players also need to meet the requirements for dungeons that require attunement, such as keys or quests. If a player does not meet the requirements for a particular dungeon, a lock icon will be displayed next to that dungeon. Hovering over this icon will display the requirements which have not been met.

How is the minimum gear requirement determined?

Wow I came back a few hours after posting the above and was just dumbfounded at some of the responses. I'm not QQ about the use of a "Gear Score" I was just wondering how this worked which some of you did answer about people in greens/blues vs. others in higher lvl epics and how it effected who you are randomly grouped with.

Basically, it means if you're in full greens you wont be queued for the new icecrown 5 mans, which are harder than the ToC 5 man.

This summed it up pretty well.

While we don't use gearscore, we are aware of how players can react based on another player's gear and want to avoid huge discrepancies. We have also been doing vehicle scaling based on gear so this isn't a totally new idea.
