Is it the same for every group (similar to the daily quest now) or is it truely random? Just a question I had lol.

I understand that. What I'm curious is will group A and group B have the same "daily heroic" or could group A get Oculus and group B get UK for their daily? Not important, but just something I'm curious about lol.

There is no longer a specific dungeon chosen as the daily quest for everyone. Whether you join the queue with a group of five players or by yourself, whatever dungeon you get first for the day using the Random Dungeon option will count as your daily dungeon. So, for example, if you joined the queue by yourself to find a pick-up group, the other members selected for your group could have all already completed their random dungeon for the day, but you'll still get credit if it's your first.

There are only two factors for obtaining the daily random or Heroic daily random rewards: 1) you have to complete the dungeon, and 2) the reward will only be given the first time you complete a dungeon using this option. Heroic dungeons, however, will award two additional Emblems of Triumph upon completing each dungeon if you continue using the Random Heroic Dungeon option.

Wait, so I can't just do the same random as my friends and we all get the badges? We might potentially have to run five different heroics a day for us all to get badges?

Am I reading this right? Esta no bien, Blizz.

Edit: Red text means I hurp'd a derp. Never mind.

No. If you create a group with four other friends and none of you have completed the Daily Random Heroic Dungeon option that day, the first dungeon for which you are selected will give you the gold and two Emblems of Frost upon completion. I was simply saying that there is no specific dungeon chosen for everyone on a realm. You get the daily reward for whatever dungeon you complete first using the Random Dungeon option.

Q u o t e:
Couldn't you just make a group of your friends, and then queue for a random dungeon?

Yes. You do not have to be in a pick-up group to do this. :)

Q u o t e:

Out of curiosity, what if say, I queued up, and I get Occulus. I despise Occulus, so most likely I would /afk out and deal with the 15 minute deserter debuff.

Once that runs out, and I queue for the next dungeon, will I still have a chance at my 2 Emblems Of Frost, or did I lose those the minute I /afk'd out of Occulus?

Yes, once the Deserter debuff wears off and you queue up again, you are eligible to receive the daily reward. The dungeon chosen the first time around will not necessarily be chosen the second time around.

Q u o t e:
Is the daily only rewarded for the *first* heroic you do in a particular day, or the *first* you kill the final boss in?

Scenario, my first random heroic is started but falls apart after killing the first boss, but not the last.
Will I get the daily reward if I join another random heroic and actually kill the final boss? Or will the daily bonus be over from first failed heroic of the day?

First kill. If for any reason you do not complete the first Heroic dungeon for which you're selected via the Random option, then the first time you complete a dungeon using the Random option will yield the daily reward.

Q u o t e:
is blizz using gearscore to get teams even on these dungeons? :)

and, when you pug in xserver groups on daily dungeons, is latency a factor blizz are using to make the groups?

There is a loose matchmaking system for determining the best group make-up. Someone wearing questing greens will be less likely to be matched with someone wearing all tier-9 gear.

To my knowledge a player's latency is not a factor in the matchmaking process.

Q u o t e:
So we will be sticking terrible geared people with each other and letting them struggle, but letting the good geared people steamroll the instance?

The matchmaking threshold isn't that extreme. It will just probably try to avoid grouping someone in questing greens with players in epic gear if Heroic Trial of the Champion or any of the Icecrown Citadel dungeon wings are chosen, as these are higher tier five-player dungeons.

Q u o t e:
Also, if I queue for a heroic dungeon, lets say UP and run it, do I get locked out of running it on my realm?
I know that random dungeons ignore lockouts, but do they create lockouts too?

Yes. I answered this in greater detail here: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=21626383487&sid=1&pageNo=3#52
