Character Name Swap - This still work?

I am wanting to swap two of my main characters names.

NameA to NameB
NameB to NameA

As far as I can find, this isn't easily done.

I did find this post by a blue describing a method that should work.

Should this still work? I have never used a character restoration but I would really hate to lose a level 80 in the process if something went sour.

I am mainly interested in just one name, but nevertheless, I am just looking for some confirmation or maybe even an alternative method that would produce the same results with a small time frame.

I can assure you that Game Masters know exactly what's up when they restore a character and find that the name is taken by another character renamed shortly thereafter the deletion. Accordingly, there's no need to try to pull the wool over our eyes. We'd much rather you approach us in-game and let us know your predicament so that we may better assist you. I cannot offer any guarantees, but open an in-game petition and see what a Game Master has to say about this issue.
