Does this ever happen? I don't know how bad it is on other servers, but on ours trade channel in all major cities just seems to be getting worse daily. I understand that wow is rated teen but its getting to where anytime you enter a major city, your entire visit will be racial jokes, f bombs, nerd rage, and players harrassing each other in ways i cant describe here. How much money would it really cost to have a GM monitor trade channel for a week or two and ACTUALLY do something to the offenders. Thats really all it would take to get those offenders banned and the rest of those tempted to jump into the mess that is trade channel to get the point that that behavior isnt welcome, and no I usually cant just leave the channel unfortunately due to raids being recruited through trade channel. This is one case where SoE had it right, and Blizzard.....not so much so.

Q u o t e:
Did you know you could use Rclick report spam for UNWANTED Chat. Did you know you could open a ticket and report people, editing the ticket as need be to add more names infractions?

Actually - that is intended primarily for illicit advertisers.

Players actually breaking our code of conduct on chat it is much better to report through a petition.

Clarifying:

Q u o t e:
"Players should report any instances of unwanted spam whispers and public chat text by right-clicking the player name and selecting the "Report Spam" feature.

"[U]nwanted spam whispers and public chat text" is one concept. This statement defines that spam in the form of whispers, as well as that which occurs in public chat channels, may be reported through the "Report Spam" feature.

The "Report Spam" feature may be used to bring the following activities to our attention:

  • To report an individual for spam (that is, for repeating the same message over and over again within a single channel)
  • To report an individual for in-game advertising
  • To report an individual for participating in the "body part" + [item link] meme

Should the behavior in question not fall under one of those categories listed above, it would be best reported via in-game petition. This will allow the situation to receive further review and you the opportunity to provide more context or explanation (name, realm, brief description of the issue, etc). :)
