WoW Battlechest. No CD's

Hi there. I have uploaded the trial version of WoW and I enjoyed it very much along with the help of a friend. I was convinced to upgrade to the full version and start an account. Thats all good and gravy. The trial version ran sweet, no big deal. I paled though when I realized the upload is like 4.6gigs.

So, not having any patience I went to my neighborhood Wal Mart and picked up the battlechest that has Wow and Burning Crusade together. The front of the box says DVD-ROM software on it. I was like 'Yep, gonna get the discs, upload it, get back on and make the Draenei I wanted to.'

So I get home with it, open it up and.. nothing. No discs. I got the books and the guest pass keys but no discs. I had inspected the box (I always do that with software) and it doesn't look tampered with. You know how you hear about some folks doing that to Wal Mart or other places.. buying software, opening up all stealthy and taking the discs, resealing it and taking it back to look unopened.

I am wondering first off if the darn thing even COMES with CD's to begin with.

Second off, if it should.. should I take it back where I got it from or contact Blizzard directly? (As I think Wal Mart doesn't have a return policy on 'opened software'.

I got the receipt and everything and the stuff inside is in fine condition. Just.. again, no CD's.

Any help with this?

Q u o t e:
I just re-examined the bottom of the box.

there is a slight curl I overlooked to the edge of one of the original packing tapes along the folds?

The Manager of the Electronics department is going to get an earful.

I am very sorry to hear this, Grymnar - I know this is frustrating.

I personally make it a habit to open any software before I leave a store - right in front of the cashier.

For cases like this where material is obviously missing it can save many headaches later. We had an issue a day or so ago where a player had the CD, but the codes had been used. Obviously, this would be harder to spot or prevent - but quite often they just take the CD out and that's very noticeable.

Some stores also remove the CD and store them elsewhere until the sale to prevent this very type of thing.

I do wish you the very best.
